About Us
The Professional Women’s Association was brought to life at the turn of the millennium, with the mission of providing a forum for networking, socializing, and professional development for professional women living and working in Budapest, Hungary. PWA offers regular monthly events – held on the second Monday of every month at 6:30 pm. Guests are welcome!
Founded in 2000 and officially registered in 2001, the Professional Women’s Association of Budapest (PWA) is a dynamic group of international women with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and occupations. Over 14 different countries are represented in the association’s membership, which provides a valuable balance of different viewpoints. English is the shared language at events.
Members are at various stages of their careers, and represent a broad range of professions. Belonging to the organization gives women the opportunity to network, to support each other and learn from each other, to grow, and to make a difference in the community. Including guests, PWA has an active participant base of over 200 women.
A ten-member Steering Committee is elected yearly by the membership, to address organizational issues. As a volunteer organization, the PWA Steering Committee carries out all the organization's planning and programming.
